University Consortium on Aquatic Sciences (UCAS)

Agreements for academic collaboration between the College of Oceanography and Environmental Science (COE), Xiamen University (XMU) and the School of Biological Sciences (SBS), The University of Hong Kong (HKU) as well as between the State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science (MEL), XMU and the Swire Institute of Marine Science (SWIMS), HKU were signed in the year 2008. Under these agreements, postgraduates from the two universities initiated a joint-university postgraduate association on 3rd November 2008, which was named the University Consortium on Aquatic Sciences (UCAS) 水環境科學研究高校聯盟, based on the consensus of the staff and students from HKU and XMU in the field of aquatic sciences.
