Climate change : Tackling with carbon sink

Liao Jiajing

China-ASEAN College of Marine Sciences (CAMS), Xiamen University, Malaysia

This century, the rate of human impact on earth's climate system and its

global scale has been unprecedented. The ocean and the atmosphere influence and interact with each other through certain physical processes, forming a complex system. The main effect of the ocean on the atmosphere is to give heat and water vapor to the atmosphere, and to provide energy for atmospheric movement. The atmosphere is mainly transported by wind stress to produce wind-generated ocean currents and upwards and downwards of seawater. The formation, distribution and changes of the ocean and the atmosphere circulate in the atmosphere affect the global climate. Ocean-current interaction can cause ever-changing weather and climate phenomena or extreme events, leading to global or regional climate anomalies and meteorological disasters.
